Previous Acis Employee plans for his future with a new and adapted bathroom

Preparing for his future, Richard Jenton worked with us as he knew that his illness may mean that he becomes disabled.

Before finalising their decisions, Richard and his wife were looking at the options to adapt their bathroom to the current and future needs. After looking at several providers, who could not commence work at the time they requested, they approached us.

Working with our team, they selected the items they wanted and ordered the goods themselves ready for our team to fit at a time that suited Richard and his wife.

Richard says: “Derek was excellent. Despite the hold ups along the way he dealt with everything in his stride. He created exactly what we wanted.

“The seal of approval was definitely when my wife showed her father the new bathroom as soon as he came round, he wasn’t able to do anything else first.”

After two weeks the work on the new bathroom was finished. Richard is delighted, he says: “the standard of finish on the bathroom is fantastic.”

Home adaptations

We can help from start to finish. Tell us your issue and we’ll come up with a solution and fit it for you. We’ll even sort out any building regulations.

We can help fit specially designed equipment to help make your home more accessible and easier to get around. We’ll take into account any current or future needs, as well as taste and budget – making sure you can stay in your home for longer.

We specialise in adaptations for people living with dementia and visual impairment and can incorporate a range of features to lower stress, minimise confusion and enhance visibility when using facilities.

In bathrooms, we can install walk-in showers or wet rooms to reduce the risk of tripping, slipping, scalding and flooding and to enhance wellbeing and confidence.

In kitchens, we can install low access or adjustable units to suit the needs of multiple people and wheelchair spaces underneath work surfaces, hobs or sinks.

We can also fit stair lifts and handrails to make going up the stairs easier for people with limited mobility.

Outside the property, we can also install access ramps in keeping with gardens and patios.

We can also work on complex home conversions and extensions, helping provide ground floor accommodation.

Whatever the problem, we’re likely to have a solution. Get in touch and ask us about our design service.
